SAINTS MARCH MAJESTICALLY ON AS RIVALS GO DOWN : Birkirkara St. Joseph – 4: Zabbar Crystal Blues – 1

As expected Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club made easy work of the Blues of Zabbar with an emphatic 4-1 victory, as the news reached the Club that their main rivals for the main honours, Gzira United, went down to an unexpected defeat at the hands of third place Zurrieq Wolves. The Saints now are at the top of the table on equal points with Gzira, but with a game in hand. The showdown will be on the 8th March, when both teams clash head on to claim the championship.

GOOD PERFORMANCE BY SAINTS IN THE MALTA HALF MARATHON 2015

Birkirkara St. Joseph athletes turned up some very good results in the 2015 Malta Half Marathon. Keith Galea placed third Maltese and 6th overall, while Steve Chetcuti, coming back from a long lay-off, placed 6th among the Maltese runners and first in his age group. Catherine Chetcuti placed a creditable 6th Maltese in the females race and first in her category. Two athletes, Barry Farrugia (3:00:31) and Rudolph Agius (3:02:49), represented the Club in the full marathon.

BIRKIRKARA ST JOSEPH SPORTS CLUB PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR RESEARCH, INNOVATION, YOUTH AND SPORT THE HON. CHRIS AGIUS

A delegation of officials from Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, headed by the Club’s Secretary General Mr. Euchar Camilleri, this morning paid a courtesy visit to the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, the Hon. Chris Agius at his office in Floriana. Besides the Secretary General, the Club was represented by Mr. Twanny Grech (Head Cycling) and Ms. Mariella Cutajar (Events Assistants Team).

In a statement, the Club said that this visit coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Club’s foundation.  During the visit, Club matters relating to the organisation of the its events and its administration were discussed in detail.  A particular mention was made of ...
