VILEDA BIRKIRKARA ST JOSEPH OPEN WATER SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014 - RACE FIVE - 30 JULY 2014 - POSTPONED

The Swimming Board is currently being kept updated with the weather forecast for tomorrow Wednesday, 30th July, which forecast is presently showing adverse weather conditions, with a force 6-7 NW wind, particularly during the Club’s 2K swimming event.

Should conditions remain the same, the board is considering postponing (instead of cancelling in terms of the championships’ regulations) the event.  Participating swimmers are requested to consult the Club website and swimming facebook page for further instructions.  ...



BBB Boost for Commonwealth Athlete Keith Galea of Birkirkara St. Joseph

Birkirkara St Joseph and Malta triathlete Keith Galea will be sporting new equipment from International Dutch Bicycle products brand BBB throughout this season. The Birkirkara triathlete, who is dominating the local triathlon season with seven victories in so many races, will be representing Malta at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games next week.

VILEDA BIRKIRKARA ST JOSEPH OPEN WATER SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014 - RACE FOUR AT TAX-XAMA, ST. PAUL'S BAY

The fourth race in the Vileda Birkirkara St. Joseph Open Water Swimming Championships 2014 will be held on Wednesday, 16th July starting at 6:00 p.m. at Tax-Xama, St. Paul's Bay. Swimmers will be starting in three waves, classified on their standings in the overall classification. As in race three, the first wave of swimmers will do two 1,000-metre loops, while the rest will do four 500-metre loops. This in order to give a wider berth to the faster swimmers included in the first wave.
