KEITH GALEA RUNNER-UP IN THE NATIONAL ROAD RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS

So intense are the preparations of the Birkirkara St. Joseph’s top triathletes that they are able to challenge for the highest places whenever they compete in the individual related disciplines. The Club’s national triathlon champion Keith Galea even managed to finish second in the 2014/2015 national road running league organised by the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, an unprecedented feat in itself, following fabulous results in the Triathlon Federation and in the cycling Tour ta’ Malta.

No one could keep up with Galea’s frenetic pace as he went on to win the five kilometres in a course record time of 16 minutes, 20 seconds, beating his own record by 25 seconds.

The battle for second place was between three other Saints, Steve Chetcuti, Barry Farrugia and Dermot Galea, who were visually struggling to see the “fun” when donning their beloved Yellow in a group of running persons – and the race was on in spectacular fashion...
