BIRKIRKARA ST JOSEPH SPORTS CLUB TEAMS UP WITH THE MALTA OLYMPIC COMMITTEE TO ORGANISE THE alli WOMEN'S DAY FUN RUN/WALK 2010
alli WOMEN’S DAY FUN RUN/WALK organised by the Maltese Olympic Committee Sunday 7th March 2010 at 8am in Qawra/St. Paul’s Bay.



JOIN the Maltese Olympic Committee in celebrating International Women’s Day with a Fun Run/Walk for Women sponsored by alli.

Everyone is invited to join in and participate in this celebration of “Women in Sport” which will start and finish at the Dolmen Resort Hotel. The programme of the event includes registration at 8am, followed by a light aerobic warm-up exercise 10 minutes before the run. Starting time for runners is 8.30am and 9am for walkers, and the route will pass along the Qawra promenade with a turning point near Qawra Palace Hotel, returning along the same route to finish at the start line. The route is 4.5 km in total and will take around 20 minutes for those who wish to jog or run and around 45 minutes for those who wish to walk.

Afterwards participants and supporters are invited to visit a ‘Health Expo’ which will also take place in the Dolmen Resort Hotel between 8.30am and 11.30am, entrance is free of charge and is open to the general public, participants and supporters of the “alli Women’s Day Fun Run/Walk”. Various stands and experts will be available offering free information on Health issues and will be providing ‘give-aways’ to all. On display will be information from the Health Promotion Unit, and several products which include alli , BreatheRight, Biofreeze, Benna, Vichy, Gillette, Gensan. Water for the fun run will be provided by Kristal; other supporters of this event include Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, AF Signs and artist Jeni Caruana. This event would not be possible without the support of these sponsors and we invite all to come and see the stands on display.

For the “alli Women’s Day Fun Run/Walk” there is no participation fee and water stations will be made available. Runners and walkers will also receive a t shirt (on a first come first served basis) which should be worn during the event. If you would like to join, applications will be readily available from the website of the MOC (www.nocmalta.org).
